Vaccination Special Interest Group
VACSIG acts as a focal point bringing together the many people working in the area of vaccination.
Overview and Committee
VACSIG aims to:
- Explore a range of topics such as advocacy, education, research and development, international travel, vaccine safety, adverse events, vaccination of immunosuppressed individuals, vaccination in neonates, pregnancy and the elderly, national vaccination programs, vaccine refusal and social science.
- Advocate on vaccine confidence, safety issues and policy.
- Support vaccine research and development.
- Develop guidelines and provide information on new developments.
- Educate medical practitioners.
VACSIG educational activities include:
- A VACSIG Symposia at the ASID Annual Scientific Meeting and the Communicable Diseases & Immunisation Conference.
- Webinars focussed on current infectious diseases and treatments.
