Healthcare Infection Control Special Interest Group
HICSIG provides a forum for ASID members that have clinical and/or research interests in infection prevention & control and/or antimicrobial stewardship.
Overview and Committee
HICSIG aims to:
Participate in relevant public policy development and national initiatives
Collaborate on infection prevention & control and antimicrobial stewardship issues and initiatives in healthcare settings with affiliated professional societies, government authorities, and advocacy groups such as:
- The Australasian College for Infection Prevention and Control (ACIPC)
- The Australian Commission for Safety and Quality in Health Care (ACSQHC)
Promote the exchange of information and ideas among healthcare professionals with a special interest in infection prevention and control and antimicrobial stewardship
Contribute medical leadership to support infection prevention and control and antimicrobial stewardship initiatives and activities in multidisciplinary settings
Foster and promote collaborative research among group member institutions.
