The focus of this meeting will be on how to implement best practice into our day-to-day clinical work, by integrating lessons from basic science, epidemiology and clinical research. Specific topics will include virology, immunocompromised hosts, bone and joint infections, antibiotic resistance, pharmacology, tuberculosis and medical education. Three outstanding international speakers have been invited to contribute their diverse clinical and research expertise. All of this and more will take place in a stylish, convivial and relaxed atmosphere by the sea at the gateway to the extraordinary Great Ocean Road.
The meeting is to be held in Lorne, Victoria, a charming seaside town set against the backdrop of the golden sands and cool blue waters of Louttit Bay, close to the lush green hinterland of the Otway rainforest. Just over an hour from Avalon Airport and two hours from Melbourne’s Tullamarine Airport, there will be a variety of transport options made available to make your journey as effortless as possible. With waterfalls, shipwrecks, bushwalking, fishing, four wheel drive touring, shopping, tennis, golf, art exhibitions, markets and restaurants Lorne will offer much more than a fantastic venue for ASID 2011.
