ASID Annual Scientific Conference Abstracts
The ASID Annual Scientific Meeting 2010 has EXTENDED its ABSTRACT DEADLINE to Wednesday 24 February 2010. Take this opportunity to participate in the meeting and submit your abstract now!
Please read the following information carefully and ensure that you follow the instructions. All abstracts must be submitted online. To submit an abstract, click here
Abstract Submission Information
- Abstract and author details must be submitted online
- You will be required to upload the abstract at the same time through the online site.
- Abstracts must be prepared in accordance with the guidelines below
- When submitting your abstract details online you must indicate your preferred presentation type (e.g. Poster, Oral, Advanced Trainee [oral])
- When you submit your abstract online please advise if you are an Advanced Trainee (A/T) and if you would like to enter the A/T award (only ASID members are eligible). If you wish to enter the award please provide a letter from your supervisor stating the percentage you contributed to the abstract, along with the names of the other authors. Email the letter to meeting@asid.net.au
- By submitting an abstract the author automatically allows ASID to publish their abstract in the abstract handbook and the conference CD Rom
- In addition, please state clearly whether you are happy for your abstract to be listed in the ASM Report on the ASID website. Only those abstracts for which consent has been clearly provided will be posted on the ASID website
Abstract Guidelines
- Content must include the study’s objectives, methodology (if relevant), summary of results and the conclusion
- All abstracts must be prepared in Times New Roman 11 point type only
- Title should appear in BOLD CAPITALS at the top of the abstract
- Single spacing should be used
- Maximum length is 250 words (excess words may not be printed)
- Format - Microsoft Word (.doc) file only
- Please place an asterisk to indicate the name of the author who will be presenting the paper
- Include full postal address next
- Do not use the carriage return (Enter) at the end of lines within a paragraph
- Leave one line between paragraphs
- Abbreviations must be spelt out in full at the first mention followed by the abbreviations in parentheses
- Present your work as a structured abstract with the following subheadings: Introduction, Methods, Results and Conclusions
- If any abbreviations are used in the abstract, the first use of the term should be spelled out in full followed by the abbreviation in parentheses.
- A maximum of one figure or one table may be used if absolutely necessary
- Abstracts must be original and written in English
