Comprehensive course in hospital epidemiology

Program

This course is based on a successful Training Course in Hospital Epidemiology that is run each year in Europe and is being brought to Australia. This intensive training program aims at those working in infection control and hospital epidemiology and is approved by two prestigious international societies in the field of infectious diseases: the European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ESCMID) and the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America (SHEA). The ESCMID/SHEA Training Course in Hospital Epidemiology was first established in 1999 and over the years evolved into the leading European course in its field.

A detailed program can be viewed by clicking here.

MYCPD points can be applied for through the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) post-course.  The course would be considered as a Category 3: Structured Learning Project.  3 credit points per hour would be applicable.  Therefore a total of 75 points are expected based on the program as at February 2010.  A certificate of attendance will be provided post-course.
